Interviews

The Sudbury Vocational Resource Centre offers a practical half-day workshop on interviews.

The interview is your opportunity to showcase your skills, experience and personal qualities to the employer. Hiring decisions are usually made based on the interview. Interviews come in many many forms, from formal panel interviews with set questions, to informal conversations when you call or walk into a place of business and speak with the manager.

Our workshop, Successful Interviews will help you to understand what is important in interviews. You will learn what to do to prepare, to examine typical interview questions and to look at the latest trend in behavioural interviewing techniques. Behavioural interviewing is where the employer asks for examples from your experience to back up skills. Whether or not the employer uses behavioural interviewing techniques, you can prepare and use examples of past accomplishments to back up claims you make about your skills.
